Indian Summer

As much as I've been heralding the onset of fall, I've still got to face the fact that it's warm in Oakland. We're talking sunny and 70-85 degrees during the day. So you can understand if I decide to wear a summer dress I just got at a clothing swap in October, right? I'm breaking some sort of rule wearing a tropical print dress so late in the year, but I don't care! Rules be damned.

brown faux leather belt: thrifted

navy + white cardigan, beaded earrings: Forever 21

blue sandals: Saltwater

studded bag: Buffalo Exchange, no label

I'm pretty sure my bag doesn't go with this outfit in the slightest, but hey, I'm just breaking another rule, right? I was dashing out the door so black studded awesomeness it is. I also blow dried my hair straight, I'm usually only motivated to do that about once a month! Something about long thick hair just really makes me not want to smooth it out constantly. [Oh, that's probably sweat I'm talking about.] So I managed to enjoy this blowout for several days. I should also mention that this dress once belonged to Liz's mother back in the day, she brought it to a clothing swap, and that swapper brought it to another swap down the line! I am so happy to have it in my hands, it fits like a dream. And isn't that the beauty of a dress, you put it on and you're done? Amen to that, friends.
